... is where Sunny Wong writes about nothing in particular and everything in general.

It’s been a while..

How many movies / shows have you watched before, and can still vividly remember the plot, what they said, and almost every single little things that happened in the show when it is almost years after you last watched it?

For me – not many. In fact there’re barely a few that made the list. And here’s one that made me jumped out of my bed after realising I had it in my bag when I woke up from my nap, and rushed to grab the VCD and play it without second thoughts(I do think twice before watching some shows.).

Today, with courtesy of my classmate, Shan, I am able to watch the show of my dream again. The show that has the most perfect storyline. The show with characters so strongly built that I can almost feel them, when they laughed or cry. The show that has great songs behind every major sentimental scenes. The show that I could never get tired of watching, even after a thousand times. At no rate am I exaggerating, never! Well it might not be nice to you, but it certainly is for me. And that’s good enough. :)

What is the show? Well it’s a Hong Kong movie, titled “Fly me to Polaris”, or in Chinese “Xin Yuan” meaning Wish. It’s a show that was filmed years back starring Cecilia Cheung and Richie Ren, talking of a dead patient coming back as another person after being granted a wish in Heaven for being the 5 billionth lucky dead people.

The show is built strongly on Richie Ren’s character, Onion Head, who is a blind and dumb in the show. And also the other 3 main characters in the show: the doctor, Jumbo Jet (Onion Head’s best friend, he’s a human!), and Cecilia Cheung as the Nurse who took care and fell in love with Onion Head.

It’s a very nice and touching love story, only losing to “My Sassy Girl” if you insist on comparing their plots. Although it’s a very old show, go ahead and find it in VCD stores, they should still be available I think. Crap, I would love to own one of my own so I can keep it. It’s a treasure.
