Sunshine after the rain
After nearly 2 years of inactivity on this weblog, I’m back (not by popular demands though). And hopefully here to stay.
Here’s a list of what happened to my public life since patch 2009, when I last posted.
Changelog
- I’m currently pursuing my degree in Computer Science in Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
- I’ve been spending way too many hours with Team Fortress 2, arguably the best fun you can have online! and it’s free to play now. Doing fine cutting down playtime since I probably played about less than 4 hours this week, we’ll see.
- I lurk around in reddit far too often and it’s not helping in the procrastination department. I’m now the ambassador of the Not Getting Things Done mantra.
- I am subscribed to several newer podcasts, namely: Back to Work, Build and Analyze, Hypercritical, and The Talk Show.
- I wrote a little web app using CodeIgniter for a school club, for taking attendance and managing gaming booths (with credits, etc). Using PHP4/MySQL 4.1 not by choice, that’s the only thing the host supported at the time.
- I started my final year project for my course: a web app that searches external sources (crawled by other team mates), using FuelPHP framework and loving it. First web-related project since my weblog’s redesign 3-4 years ago.
- I moved my weblog to a different web host now. All the old posts are gone as I feel like there were too many personal thoughts for my liking. I want to think of myself as being less emo now. Dreamhost was fine as a casual (non-important) host but as a student, way too expensive for the pathetic amount of resources I need (seeing that I probably have 2 visitors during the peak hours).
- I have aged twice, with the second one just 1 week ago. You’re welcome to send me an iPad 2 as a belated gift and I won’t bear grudge anymore for not wishing me on time.
- I’m not playing Starcraft 2 enough. Best $99 for a game that I don’t spend enough time on because I suck too much to want to admit it. I stopped after the first season reset, sadly.
- Most of my verbal diarrhea are posted to Twitter now, you can follow me @draco.
- I finally decided to lose weight when I started having my own orbit. I hope this downward trend and diet continues.
What goes from here?
If history is any indication, I’m not good at keeping my words. I just intend to start writing more and find my niche as I go along. The rest will happen when they happen.
tl;dr: I’m back. √
